My First Full Time Job =P

I've signed the appointment letter already. Hee...

Starting work on monday.

Was told that this month of June, the top must be white. Wah liaoooo...
I DON'T HAVE WHITE TOPS!!!

Had to do a pre-employment medical check-up. So rushed down to the clinic before they closed.
Wahhh... I didn't know before starting work, must have eyes tested, pee tested, blood pressure tested, muscle reflexes tested, close eyes and touch nose.

Anyway, I went white top hunting after the check up.
So while trying some tops, I was thinking to myself.
Sian lor... Whole month I can only eat rice or bread or any other things which will not splatter and stain my white top.

Managed to get 1 white top which I think its quite a steal cause its from Zara and only cost me $29.90. Wahahaha...

Dinner at Godma's. My first meal of the day.
My offered Joe 10 bucks to eat a piece of Maxie's dog biscuit. Godma said we shouldn't waste food, so its better to just take half. So of course bet must reduce by half also. Yh chipped in too.
Being a sport, he actually ate the biscuit. HAHAHAHAHAHAA...

Last Week Of Freedom

Sorta hooked to the game Solitaire Showdown on MSN. Hahaha... Can play till stone.

I was like engrossed in the game then suddenly at 6.43pm I got a call.
Saw the number, I'm not too sure who. But still picked it up.

Wahhey... Its the HR calling to tell me the job details and stuff. Anyway, I realised I can't start on thursday cause of driving, so she said start on monday.

Which left me realising that....
This is going to be my last weekend of freedom.
Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!!!

I should really make the best out of it.
What should I do?
Sleeping more will definitely be on the list.

Runway Cycling

I woke up at freaking-five-in-the-dawn!
Took a nice warm shower and headed out with the bike to Ym's house.

We were heading for the Runway Cycling organized by SAFRA.
This is such a break away from my usual routine whereby I would have brunch, so I actually forgot to buy breakfast. The only thing I could find for a decent breakfast-on-the-go besides chips and biscuits were those cereal bar. Not that I hate them or anything, I find it hard (literally) to bite into them. Braces. So I took almost 15mins to finish 1 bar. Gosh!

We loaded the bikes up the van and set off.
I didn't bring camera cause I thought cameras were not allowed. But after I read again, it only states 'Telescopic cameras not allowed'.

Anyway, there was a queue to get pass the gates. We had to walk through metal detectors and bags got checked. Its an air base after all.

Waited and waited for the flag off at 8.30am. We chose the 15km route and were probably somewhere in the middle behind the flag off point. So after the flag off, we were cycling and the runway had such a massive crowd, after 10minutes, I still couldn't see where's the front. I looked back and woahhh... a long trail at the back.

Aiyo..Don't know why, cycling in up and down the whole stretch of ECP didn't seem as tiring as this leh. Perhaps due to the lack of greenery.

Finally made past the finish point. Damn shagged!

Then there was the fun fair, so went to get something to eat before having a kiddy ride on the choo-choo-train. Wahahhaa...

We'll be back next year. Probably to try the endurance challenge of 45km. Hahaha..

SALESSSSSS

The battle has began...
Prices are being slashed!
Value of items are being murdered!
Products being grabbed and whisked away. Rejected ones are just thrown into a mass pile.
The damage done depends on how fierce the war is and how determined the fighters want to emerge from the battlefield with victorious with a broad grin.

Yesterday, met up with compadre Xl first then to meet compadre Yl. Our battlefield was at the mass landmarks along Orchard.

After an hour battle, we needed to recharge.
We retreated for lunch at Coffee Club.
Yl had some chicken and I had soft shell crab with wasabi (the dip which by the way, was freaking hot). I don't like the feeling of my nose becoming a chimney, so I kept stealing Yl's tartar sauce which she eventually surrendered it to me.
We ate mud (pie that is) and an apple-which-lacked-crumble and crumbled upon arrival.
Xl said she wanted to order tea so that she can learn to appreciate it next time when she becomes a tai tai. -_-"

It was back to battle ground after that. I was searching for black shoes. Actually I saw it a few weeks ago. So I bought it.

-Digress-
May need it next week cause I may be starting work. The manager has accepted but then again, I don't know if I will accept or not. I still don't know how much I'll be paid and the benefits blah blah. The HR is supposed to contact me on that issue.
Oh well...
-End of digressing-

Compadre Hj came to join us. As night falls, the battles take a backseat after a tiring day.

We went to have dinner at Swensen's cause of some reason. Wanted to watch movie after that. But tickets were either sold out or very late.

KTV instead. This one we went to is more worth it then others. They give u a certain value to exchange for food. So we had like fishballs, satay and fruits platter. $17.50 for a friday night with so much stuff isn't that bad a deal eh?

Even the cab back was only about $3+ per person. The cab driver kept on talking about chicken rice though. The 3 of them entertained him. Hahaa...

2nd Driving

My 2nd driving lesson was rather fun even though I still kept on stalling the engine. Damn noob, I know.

The instructor saw my log book. First 100mins only complete subject 1-3??? He thought I was a damn slow learner. But after driving a few rounds, he actually said I'm not that bad mah.. Said that the first instructor should have written that subject 4 has been touched on but not pass yet.
I just tend to overestimate when another vehicle is nearby, so I'll end up near the other lane.

Initially, I thought the instructor was just like talking to me. Then suddenly, he would just say "gear 2" then I wasn't really thinking he was referring to asking me to change gear. I think I "har" many times. Same when he asked me to overtake cars. Also "har" a few times before I decided that I should just take my own initiative and overtake, hopping I wouldn't get scolding for doing something I wasn't told to do.
Actually its quite fun to overtake. Swerve here swerve there.

Came home to rest. My mind was spinning. As I was chatting away on the com, the dizziness was causing me to see the words on the screen moving from right to left. Really spinning motion.

Went to church in the evening. I seriously don't know what relevance the priest's homily had to the Gospel. Out of 5 masses he preaches, probably 4 revolves around this hidden meaning using a different theme each time.
Got hidden meaning one.. He's actually targetting a group of people who apparently aren't getting along too well with him. Pure boredom cause its none of my business.
Attending church has never been such a chore. Perhaps I should attend a church at a different area. The only thing holding me back is the location convenience.

Soft Toys Galore

While I was heating up the curry I dabao-ed from last night. I saw something run near the basin area towards the window.

Lizard!!!

First thought? Shit, how? How??

I opened the window to let it run out. But it kept on coming back in so I had to chase it out. No use.
Sighhh, I had no choice but to use insecticide.

-Pssssttttttttt-
It ran out of the window so fast that it didn't run down the wall. It ran off the latch and committed sucide.

Yeahh its gone!
Darn, now I've gotta wash all the plates and cutlery.

After my lunch and all the washing up, I wanted to close the window. Pulled in and suddenly I saw something.
Wth!

Roach!!!
Shit lah... How freaking sway can I get?
Eeeww... Its dead lah. But still... Its damn disgusting.

Holy crap lah!! The part of the window I was holding to pull in was where it will close onto the roach lah.
I felt so dirty after that. I washed my hands many times.
At least 5 with various kinds of soap and I still felt disgusted. Like the bacteria had engulfed my palms.
I even went to use disinfecting solution to pour over my hands.
Quite extreme. I know.

Ahhh... Enough pests for the day. 2 of the worst nemesis is just bad lah.

I needed to escape!

I've cleared my soft toy cupboard. Used up all 6 vacuum storage bags and still not enough.
Ehh...
Ok, I did a count. Didn't hit 200 as I thought I would. But I still think its a lot.

~A grand total of 171 soft toys!~
By golly.. That is seriously a lot of soft toys.

My Soft Toys

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I've been asked to clear my cupboard filled up with my lil colourful ones. To send them away to dad's store where more space is available. Then I can use the space to store things which are more relevant stuff cause my dad has noticed a surge in my cosmetics recently.

So before I pack them up, I've decided to take a picture of each and everyone of them.
Packing it up is fast. But taking the pics are time consuming.
That kinda explains why I spent yesterday and today snapping pics and I'm still halfway through only.

I even went to buy special bags which can vacuum out air to compress it. Sighh.. They don't come cheap. Each for about 6bucks. I've used 3 already just for the top shelf. Bought another 3 but I still think that's not enough.

Dinner was curry chicken at Godma's place. The curry was so good, I think I ate alot. But too much of a good thing isn't good. Too much coconut milk in my system.

Birthdays

With good buddies from SJAB seated around a table of food, dinner was good.
It was a small and simple celebration for Von's birthday, her bf's treat.

Ohh... Its also Gin's 21st birthday.

Happy birthday Gin & Von. =)

Stupid Cab Driver

Had prata from a vegetarian shop. Prata with the guilt. Hahaha... Still as crispy.

Then I went for my first official assignment ever since I graduated. Ehh.. The pageant one doesn't count lah, I didn't earn anything for that.

Anyway, my bag was too heavy, I had to cab to Novena first then the person would come and pick me up.
The cab driver was seriously f-ed up. I opened the door and gestured him to open the boot. He refused and ask me to put my bag in the passenger seat. I thought he mistook me, so I signalled to the boot. Then he was like "don't need, can lah."
Since he don't want to open the boot, I put my bag on the seat and slide it in. Then he started shouting, "oei! don't drag lah." I lifted it up to push it a bit further in lor. He shouted again, "I tell you don't put there you understand or not?!?!"
Hello... first only shouted don't drag mah, so I carried a bit. Then you shout and ask me if I understand what you said not to put there? Whose command of english is worst?
Blacked face all the way. Upon destination, paid up and glared at him while he turned to see how I took my bag out.
I know, I should have just dragged my bag on the seat right? After all I'm getting out already.
Chao mushroom.

The client came to pick me up and off to the house which was huge. The deco was very nice sia. Full length glass windows, glass stairs (not full lah, the stepping parts were made of wood), a koi pond within the house and a rooftop garden!

Supposed to do make up for the sis-in-law(bride), mother and wife. All wanted those simple looks so hmm... easy lah. Hahaha.. I think I used the hair spray as though its free, so to ensure that the hair won't go flat.

Q Cutters

I don't know whats wrong with people nowadays. Don't they know what basic courtesy is?
Since Thursday when I went for driving, I has someone cutting my queue everyday. Damn pissing! I don't think I have a shirt which reads 'Please cut my Q' at the back.

Thurs, while queueing for a cubicle in the toilet, then this girl came in, "Cuse me, cuse me!!" Everyone thought she wanted to just use the basin so let her pass. Then who knows, she just rushed into 1 of the cubicles.

Fri, went for dental then went to have lunch at Wisma. Godma & I wanted to eat dessert after that, so I went to buy. I was queueing behind this lady who was paying. This man just stood behind her and shouted, "1 ice kachang!" Stall auntie too busy, didn't hear him. Lady moved off, he cut in. "1 ice kachang!" totally oblivious to the queue which was formed behind me. I was like looking at him with the buay song face. He pretend not to see, chin up and pointing to the auntie, "1 ice kachang!" again. The auntie ignored him and said I was first. Wahahaa... Then he gave that irritated face. Too bad.

Sat was out with Hj, we had Carl's Jr for lunch. This group of punks, thinking they are some big shots, ignored the queue, just cut. The cashier refused to serve them and ask them to queue. Haha..

But stupid people lah, they ought to have their queue cut one day especially when they are in a hurry.

Ohh ya, me & Hj shopped like 6 hours straight lor. Legs are tired but didn't buy anything.
Although GSS is now on, I shall scan first only.

Driving

Morning called Yh at 9.30am. Was expecting her to pick up the call and say that she was patronizing Krishna at the prrata stall. But no... Lazy bones was still asleep.

Arranged for lunch near her place. Dad's sending me for my first driving lesson.
Wheee....
Anyway, lunch was good. I think the popiah there is good. (Yh, I know you will read this... You know what to do eh? *Hint hint*) Fish soup was ok.

Okok.. My driving. I wanted to go and apply for my PDL before the start of the lesson. The queue was freaking long! Didn't want them to say that just cause I didn't apply for my PDL, I can't take the lesson and my money is wasted. So my lesson was 12.45pm, at 12.35pm I was still waiting for my turn. Darn, I decided to risk it, ran to the information counter and checked if I needed PDL for first lesson. Phew!! They don't need. So I just went to find my car and wait.

Instructor came and blah-ed on some theory stuff. What I should know, how to move off and stop blah blah. Then after that he said, "Ok... Now we shall swap seats, I shall take joy ride while you drive." Yeah... The moment I was waiting for. Hahahaa... So I happily swapped seats and then it was my turn.

Anyway, hands on driving is so much different and more difficult then how I read from the book.
My car stalled for umpteen times.
My feet weren't cooperating. Clutch in, brake.. accelerate. What what, how what??
My braking was damn sudden. The instructor said it was so ungraceful. I should steadily and gracefully brake the car.
My car was dancing hip hop in a jerky way. A frog. As what the instructor described. Its damn funny... I couldn't help laughing.
I kept on ramping on the accelerator like I was in a motor race. Vroom... Vroooommm...

Ohh... Then the ultimate thing happened. I stalled the car and wanted to start it again.
Cranking the engine. Cannot leh.
Instructor: "Turn.."
-Cranking engine.-
Instructor: "Turn harder..."
-Cranking engine again-
Me: "Cannot lah..."
Instructor: "Turn until you cannot turn the key."
-Crank again-
Me: "Max liao max liao... Turn somemore will break."
Instructor: "Orhhh..."

I caused a mini tailback on the circuit. 2 instructors from the car behind had to come out and push car. Wahahahaa... Then it started again. I wanted to laugh at the incident. But paiseh lah.. Hahaha...

My max speed went up to 70km/h on the circuit. *ahem* But that is with handbrake up lah, I was just ramping the accelerator.
Actual max speed I drove was only 20km/h. Wahahaha.. Circuit mah... Cars are so bumper to bumper.

So yes, thats the highlight of my first lesson. Wonder whats install for my second lesson.

Fries Frenzy

Met up with Yh at J8. Supposed to have dinner there. But its a boring place. Most of the shops were appealling to us. The movie choice was rather pathetic, so we had Mos for dinner then head over to town to watch other shows.

We wanted to go Cathay. Took the train and when we arrived at Orchard, me being too used to taking train from the opposite direction, thought we had missed the stop at Dhoby.
Me: "OMG OMG, I think we missed our stop. Quick, quick lets get off."
Yh (confused) just got off. Then we stood at the platform trying to register what just happened.
Whahaha... After realising my mistake, we decided to go for movie at Lido. No nice shows so we walked to Cine.

Watched 'Kinky Boots'. Its a damn funny show. It tickled me silly. The actor pulled off the role of a drag queen so darn well.
There was this part, they were saying something like, shoes can tell a few characteristics about a person. It really left me analyzing people's shoes on the train ride home.

I have this problem, sometimes I read too fast. I ignore the important things. The keywords.
Like after the movie, we went to have desserts. Cakes were going at 2 for the price of 1. I don't know why, I read it as buy 2 get 1 free. I know its a big difference but I also don't know why. So Yh was keen, I was too.
Me: Are you sure we can finish 3?
Yh (confused).

Haiyo.. I also don't know why. Like the last time, we had this GV coupon to get movie discount. It stated $2.50 off regular price.
I just read it as its $2.50 and I thought it was a great deal. But the fonts were so fineprint.

Haha.. Ok lah, never mind, I can be really blur sometimes. Gosh

Malacca Day Trip

Had a day trip up to Malacca with Godma, uncle, aunt and their friend. Was bascially a journey just sleep eat walk shop.

Going to Malacca, the two things that cannot be missed are the chicken rice balls and the chendol. Missing those and it would be like not going to Malacca.

Jonker Street is one of those places where you would be able to find your way around to the shop even after almost 3 years of not going there and not get lost. Because the place doesn't really change, you can close your eyes and still walk there. Ohh wait, I take that back. You cannot walk with your eyes closed. Either you will fall into a drain or get honked by an oncoming car.

After 2hours of travelling, we reached Malacca feeling famished.
First stop was to eat the chicken rice balls.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
If only the rice balls were warm. =l

We had a guided tour in this old conserved shophouse turned museum. There was a real well with water in it. Water said to be drinkable condition after some desalination. The tour was really informative.

Next up was CHENDOL! Whoo hoo!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Thirst quenching and not too sweet.

The whiff of mee rebus from that stall smelt really good. So we also order that to try.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Oh and the tauhu as well.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Its quite a lot for lunch. But hey, Malacca is all about the food. =P

Walking down the street, a common sight would be a sign "Name of person original homemade pineapple tarts". If all claim to be the original, how come after trying 2 stalls, they both taste so different? Anyway, I still prefer pineapple tarts made in Sg.

Shop shop shopping at the mall. It was shoe haven! There were more than 10 shoe shops there. But I didn't even buy a pair. =(
Bought some hair book, glitter thingy and black tops. Hahahaa...

Tea break at Secret Recipe. The cakes are so cheap. Who would have thought that combining apple crumble and cheese cake would be such a good match. Its like combining brownie and ice cream. Whoops.. No picture though.

Walked a long way to find this Peranakan restaurant which doesn't cater as much to the tourist crowd. So its more authentic and less commercialized.

The otak is very lemak.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Fish maw soup.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Haiz... No comments, too much green stuff floating on the top.
Kang kong with a lot of chilli.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Sambal fried fish. This one is hot!!!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Chicken Devil Curry. True to its name, the devil doesn't work immediately. It lurks in your mouth and the spiciness gradually builds up from there. Just wait 10-15 mintues. Then you get the full kick of spicy oomph.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

It was another 2hr drive back. The roads were pitch dark. Its nice to admire the storm brewing many miles away. The lightning lighting up the dark sky.

After travelling at an average of 120km/h, suddenly feels so weird to be back in Sg and have to travel at 80km/h. Like so slow. Hahahaa...

Dabao the flu bug

I just realised what I got back from doing that beauty pageant event.
Headache and a slight flu bug. Thanks ar...

Well, a bit of headache cause tired and lack of sleep. Flu bug cause I had to do for a few contestants who were not feeling well and were like sniffing away. *@*#^!*~@

After coming back from church and teochew porridge for lunch. I increased my dose of Vit C and had a nice 3hr nap.

Feeling so much better right now. =)

Beauty Pageant

NO... I didn't take part. I just went there to do the make-up on friday and sat.

Actually after going to this event, talking to the contestants while doing the make-up, I don't understand why people would want to take part. Sure, it creates jobs and all that.
So if there are no beauty pageants, would make-up artists would have one less source of income? But, thats if we're paid in the first place. So since we're not paid, I shall continue my ranting. Seriously, if we're paid for all the shit that goes on, ok lah, can just take it as part and parcel of the job.

But NOT PAID!! Still must put up with the hot, stuffy and over crowded backstage which had bad lighting and 2 jugs of water provided for over 50 people. Even the toilets were cooler than the backstage. Ohh... Not forgetting some really bimbotic contestants.

We were told that we only need to be there from 11.30am-2.30pm, 5pm-6.30pm. Ended up only starting at 12.15pm cause the contestants all want to go eat lunch. So when most came back, we had to rush.

There they sit down and face is prep up for the make up. Asking them for preference of colours and blah blah blah.
They would say the same thing, "Erm, up to you lah. You're the pro, you decide."

After doing, they take a look the mirror and complains eyeshadow colour is too dramatic. Wants it removed. So ok lah.. I did advice them based on past experiences. But if still insist, what to do? Going on stage with strong lighting, still don't want thick, later go on stage, face will just look pale only mah.
Its like, if you sit there and keep quiet, of course I'll do whatever I think can suit the dress colour. Then if its not the ideal look in their mind then I'm expected to change it. Hello, I'm there to do make-up, not read minds. There are other people waiting for make-up too, whole world doesn't revolve around one person. But that is one of the characteristic of a bimbo right?

Perhaps there is a questionnaire they must answer to qualify for the competition.
Q1: Do you think you are pretty?
A1: Yes (Please proceed to Q2.) / No (Thank you for taking part, you don't qualify.)
Q2: Who is the most important person in this world?
A2: Me (Proceed to Q3.) / Any other person. (Sorry, your self esteem isn't up to our standard.)
Q3: Do you think George Bush should run for another election?
A3: Yes / No (Proceed to Q4.) / George who? Isn't Clinton still the president? (Please brush up on global issues and come back next year.)
Q4: What do you think the world needs right now?
A4: World Peace (We thank you and welcome you to participate.)

-Snap fingers-
Right.. I digress too much.

Cause of the delay, we only had our break at 3pm. No lunch provided somemore. Had to walk out and buy then come back. Then their rehearsal over and wanted to touch up. I couldn't be bothered, really. I was thirsty, tired, hungry and my back was aching. All that mattered at that moment was how nice my fried rice tasted, my back was straight for that while, and my feet didn't have any pressure.

So instead of starting at 5pm as told, we had to start at 4.30pm and ended at 6.30pm. Wah liao.. Drag lor. When we found the opportunity, we quickly packed up and left. We'd rather sit outside at the table and wait for dinner to be served then hang around in the backstage area any longer. All not too happy with the contestants cause they would go round to different artists and ask for opinion on make up. Ask for more touch up, then go over to another artist and ask for opinions and touch up. Or they would go and remove or add their own stuff. So of course we're not too happy.

Ohh.. I found out that participants had to pay to register. Then they have to buy seats in the final's dinner. Seats don't come cheap. About $800/table or thereabout. If they win, prize would be a ticket to the international pageant and they can bring another person. Otherwise, I think they just get some stuff from OSIM or something like that.
They gotta go for rehersals and all that. Spend money on getting dress and stuff. So I'm thinking, why not use all that money to go on own trip or buy the stuff instead? 1 dress also not cheap ok? Heard one of them went to custom make a dress with a price tag of $700.
Then it all boils down to having to step into the limelight for probably about 10 minutes (added up from all the promo events till finals where they are introducing themselves or an act.) The rest of the time, they are probably dancing or parading around as a group.

I waited to eat the 2nd course which was shark's fins (at least make my time and effort worth a bit) then left the dinner to meet up for night chat sessions with the usual group. I didn't bother to wait for the 3rd course which was prawns.
Thought I accidentally teleported myself to the slaughterhouse. But I didn't its just the noise level and bad sound system.
I think the crowd was rather rude lah. When the contestant came up to introduce themselves, they would sound those horns or blow whistle not to cheer the contestant but just to make noise.
It was like a gala dinner, they wear until so nice, yet so uncouth. Spoil image lor..

Dinner

Went all the way to Jurong Point to do make up for the beauty pageant.
Shall summarize it in tomorrow's entry.

After doing the event, went to have tunch with Ros. Catching up over meal.

Had family dinner with in some Teochew restaurant in Amoy Street. Actually I don't really know exact location. But since I had a lot of time to spare, I walked a whole big round to explore the place on a public holiday where there were hardly people unlike during office hours where there would be a huge lunch crowd. I finally found the shoe shop which was introduced on some tv show some time ago. Too bad its close, another day then.

Dinner was quite good. Had lots of food. Oh the bill also wasn't that ex for each person. =)

I'm seriously tired.

Meatballs

Went all the way to Ikea with Vi, cause I was determined to satisfy my craving for some sweedish meatball. Delicious!

Shopping at Queensway was next. I didn't really intend to buy anything. We were just comparing prices of shoes. But I ended up with a pair of socks, jeans, and pants (future work). I classify them under 'need' not 'want'. Its justified, really.

Then went to godma's house to visit grandma. Had my favorite granny's ginger chicken. Wahh today eat all the nice food.

Maxie won't let me stick my finger into her mouth. Whenever I try to stick my finger into her opened mouth, she thinks its a lollipop and starts to lick or nibble my finger. Silly dog.

Event tomorrow. Shall sleep now.

Job's Test

First I went back to my ex company. Supposed to meet Conz there to check her eyebrow before bringing her, as my model to my job test.
So I was chatting with the GM. She loves to compare me four years ago to me presently. I forgot what she said exactly but I shall use a short and sweet word. 'Nerdy'?
Anyway, each time I go back, my make up gets scrutinized by quite a few colleagues. Today was no different. I got a few compliments for my eyeshadow application.
Ehh... I also think today's one quite nice lah... Tee hee hee...
I spent 10 wholesome minutes leh.

Ohh ok... Back to job's test. Shan't digress too much.

I called the brand manager to ask her the venue of the test. She asked me to go down and look for someone. I really cannot hear the name cause the manager was driving then using hands free. So I asked her to repeat like 4 times and each time she said the name, sway sway the line will either go soft or distorted. I only know its a malay lady's name.

I reached there and scanned for any malay lady at the counter. Don't have leh... All I saw was an indian lady and chinese guy. They were informed of me so they were like looking for who (I still couldn't catch her name). She was out for lunch, so I can take the time to see which products I want to use.

Seeing the range of eyeshadows, I am shocked. Clearly shocked cause there wasn't much colour to play with. All so earthly tones or so sheer. How much difference can earthly tones or sheer colours look on the skin? I'm sorry to say that I'm not trained to see the difference. What I've learnt is colours, colours and more colours.

So when the test started, I was told to do 1 day and 1 night look. Basically, I think I crapped my way through the questions which were asked when I was doing the makeup. A way to distract my thoughts, to test me if I can multi task. Sure I can. I do that all the time at home. I can use the phone, sms and watch tv at the same time. Hmm... Ok because the items were not laid out in front of me, I have to find whatever I want to use, so I actually missed or skipped steps.

Her: I noticed you didn't set the foundation with powder.
Me: Ohh... Ya. I will set with powder after I finish doing the eyeshadow because if the specks of eyeshadow drop around the eye and cheek area, I can dust it away with the powder or it can help to cover it. (Sounding extremely sure of what I was doing)
Classic answer. Hahaha... Till now I still cannot believe I came up with a reason like that.

When asked why the choice of colour of eyeshadow, I don't know what to reply. I mean most of the colour range is earth tones leh... What am I to say? Ohh except, "I choose it base on what she is wearing." Conz was wearing brown, so its like earthy tone also. Wahahahaa...

There were moments of folly too. Kan cheong leh. Somemore not familiar with their stuff. Screwed up with the eyebrow colour and eye area for the night look.

My toe decided to cramp up all of a sudden. So there I have to keep a face with a smile but my toe was hurting like hell. Wanted to sit down but I know I cannot. Stupid shoe... Grrr... I need to buy one soon. I shall not listen to those sales people anymore. I think I should know my own feet better ya?

So now after screwing up in those parts, its like a 60-40 chance of getting the job. Sighhh...

Ohh yes, and I went shopping with Conz after that. Now then I know, they actually got a lot of discount stuff. 30% Esprit discount voucher, URS Vip and lots more but those 2 are what I'm eyeing to stock up on some working attire.
Set... shall go see Esprit soon, 30% is good stuff. I already aimed the shoes, but its not the pumps from the pushcart. Shall get the card then go and buy.
Wheee... Then I'll have happy feet for friday's event at JP.

Pre Interview Jitters

Feeling rather kan cheong for the test for the job. I do not worry if they test me on colour combination and blah blah. I worry cause I do not know how to use their products and the types of brushes they use.

Anyway, was online. I got to know something which made me pissed and saddened.
I feel so misunderstood... Yuan wang arhhhh...
There the person comes to me, asking me out for company to get things done (collect this, do that blah blah).
Then there they go telling another friend a fart load of bullcrap.
Ohh so I've sorta given this person an impression that I'm a daddy-dependant spoilt brat who will not understand the agony of working life and the vicious cycle of earning money.
That I cannot sympathize with workaholics who are working their asses off.
Ahhh... But then, what are this group of people belonging to this group of workaholics actually working for? Ohhh... Wait a minute, they are working to pay off a 20 buck debt for a friend's bday present, hair perming, clubbing sessions and probably a branded bag.

The 20bucks isn't even my money. I was helping someone sms to collect the money. But somehow, this person replied stuff like no money. So like that how am I going to tell my other friend? Then I tried to reason with this person that everyone was chipping in evenly mah. Then this person jumped to assumptions and thought I was forcing payment. Started to complain to the other friend that just because I do not work, I can just keep getting my dad to pay for my EVERYTHING and unlike me, they have to work to pay for stuff. Making me sound so bratish!
I cannot stand that. Goodness sake... I am not a spoilt brat!!!
I use my given allowance to buy stuff within my limits.
Damn it... Say behind my back somemore. -_-
State facts behind my back still not so bad, can pass it off as gossip.
But spreading rumours based on bias assumptions is just wrong!

Bahh! Spoil my mood only.

Ok forget it... On another note, my teacher helped me call another person in charge of the brand I went for interview yesterday. But since its already made known to this other manager about my interest in the brand, its only polite to call personally and let them know that I've actually went for the interview already.
After calling, I now know the difference. The one I went direct to deals with local market. Teacher's recommendation isn't local market and a 1 way transport will be provided either from or to my doorstep for each shift. Not bad right???
Ok so this other manager is really nice too. She asked me to let her know the outcome of my test which will be later on in the day. If it doesn't work out there, perhaps I can work under her charge?

Shall go prepare now. My fate will be decided in a few hours time...

Job Hunt

Arranged for an interview. Hmm... Not too bad lah, smooth interview. The manager seems satisfied with my answers, I THINK. So she asked me to go for a second interview, on the spot test, but I'd have to bring my own model and they will provide products and tools.
This is by far the most interesting interview I've been to. The interviewer gave me a goodie bag at the end of the interview as a token of appreciation for taking my time to go down for the interview. Hahahaa...
FIY: Its not some ulu company trying to lure me into joining by giving me a goodie bag. Well known company. Rather mid-high range brand.

Eve wanted to meet me. Vi was supposed to meet me but suddenly changed mind. So Eve tried to psycho Vi to meet us. Unsuccessful. Must combine power through the advanced phone function called 'call conference' to psycho her. Success!

Ok.. I walked till my legs were screaming out in pain thanks to the heels! I wanted to buy a pair of flip flops and just change it right there and then. But it won't match my outfit, so just beared with it till the end.

Ohh my gosh... I saw this pretty unique pair of pumps from this push cart stall. Fits my feet perfectly and it only cost $29.90. But its not black! If its black, I sure buy. But now, I shall only use my money to buy clothes and shoes which are black in colour for future work purpose.

*-*

Heh... Finger Food + Drinks + Lame Games + 5 Friends = Mini Party
Held over at my place last night.
Met up with Cf & Ym for a rather late dinner, then came back to my place. Vid came over and we started playing Monopoly with bro & Yh.
Followed up by Jw and Von. Then we switched game to one called Swap. Ehhh... Damn lame game lah, can't win unless you cheat. Or maybe we were just too tired? Hahaha...
Played late into the night and early into the morning before they left.

Woke up and went to church. I was on time! Hahahahaa...
Ok.. Whats up with the priest? I see no connection in what he said.

Met up with Hj for dinner.
Oh we went to buy this bag of mashmellows and now I'm on a sugar high. *-*

Giraffe

Oh, I just realised that my hp doesn't know how to spell "giraffe". Stupid hp...
Anyway, Yh wanted to try this new place called Giraffe. She told me where it was but seriously, I've never heard of it. Hahaha... But anyway, we met up before that because we wanted to take those photoshots from those instant machines. Not those cutesy jap kind, its those supposed to take IC/Passport shots. Results not too bad lah. =)

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

So Giraffe we went. I don't regret going cause we were actually considering to go for jap steamboat instead. It looks so cool from the outside.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The inside also looks cool.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Cutlery all nicely displayed.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Cushioned seats were comfy.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The food was great!
This is the Crumbled Mushrooms, cripsy on the ouside, juicy and moist on the inside.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This is nice too, Fried Trio Cheese or something like that. I wish there was more cheese though.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Her Bell Pepper with I don't know what inside but it sure tastes hella-good.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

My Florentine Sole, fish fillet on a layer of spinach and I don't know what goes in the creamy stuff. Tastes like mashed potato but the texture is much smoother.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Dinner was good. But she still wanted desserts. So we went over to Cartel. Hahaha... Cakes going at 50%. Budget.

MI Cruise

Wed
Early early in the morning at 10.45am, one company (the one which I don't want cause I don't see prospects in it) called me asking whether I've already considered if I want the job or not. Although I was still sleeping, I still can think straight. So I still tried to buy myself more time by saying I need to consider further. Hahahaaa..

Spent my day doing the laundry and stuff. So much things to wash.

Thur
Went to send in my laptop for repair cause the cooling system has spoilt. The stupid building is like in a maze of industrial area, I got lost and had to end up walking more than 3 bus stops. Because of all the walking, I was late for my meeting with Yh. Supposed to meet her at 2pm. I was still stuck at the laptop hospital at 2.30pm. No choice, I took a cab down cause we were supposed to catch the 3+ movie.
I am really convinced that I'm under the punctuality curse. I mean, how can anyone get into a cab and the meter is at $2.40, see a clear road ahead. Then suddenly, from $2.60 onwards to $4, was just to wait in the jam.
Upon reaching destination, I was rather fustrated. Journey defintely is shorter than from my house to Orchard (~18km), cost will be about $9.50 onwards. I requested for receipt.
OMG... It was only 6.4km and I had to pay $9.50 for no ERP, no peak whatsoever. But the time was half hour. Its just so stupid!

Movie was Mission Impossible 3. Ayyeeee.... Tom Cruise is just so cute lah! He looks so cool when he whips out his weapon and kills the baddies. He looks good even with blood and cuts on his face. The lighting and camera angles all compliments his face so well.
I never watched MI and MI2 before. But now, I'm so tempted to rent the video to watch it. Hahahaa...

Kuching Day 4 - 02.05.06

Waffles for breakfast again. Hahahaa...

Went to the nearby souvenir shops to shop around. I saw 2 things I liked but I wasn't fated to get. First was a tee shirt of a cat. This shirt is the most unique from all the cat shirts I've seen. The picture of the cat is from the front left to the front back. The cat has a more attitude looks rather than the usual smiley cat or normal face cat. Too bad, it only came in M, L, XL which was too big since its unisex. Second was a woven bag. The design is diagonal, was the only shop which has it and I've never seen it in Sg. I wanted to buy, asked adults for opinions, they too agreed its nice. Aunt's friend also wanted to buy. We went to ask the person how much, then if there was a new piece. But there wasn't. Then we opened up to check and the one we took wasn't the one we actually wanted, just that it was within reach. So the inside was dirty and then we were just telling each other about the stain.
The sales girl heard it and exclaimed, "Dirty then don't buy lah!"
Fwahhh... Attitude sia... Ok lor, don't buy lor.

Ohh.. Then I was thirsty. So I went to a shop similiar to 7-11 but not same name though. They had those vending machines like the Big Gulp kind. Dad wanted coke or something. Something made me decide not to take coke but orange instead. After the foam settled, I saw stuff floating..
Yikes! Ants!!! Not just 1 hor. There were more than 6. Disgusting!
Grossed out by that, we tried taking another cup to see if there were still ants. But we couldn't bear to drink it. So had mineral water instead. Ohh.. The sales girl took the cup, poured away the drink and washed it, not sure if she put the cup back after we walked out or not. But I got a feeling she would, else why wash it in the first place?

So yes, we had lunch at some place which wasn't too happy to serve us cause they were about to close. But we were hungry so we had our lunch and left. I walked into a shop and I spotted some shell necklace. Hahaha.. I bought it. My aunt's other friend also fell in love with it and bought it.
Then I bought a tee shirt. Ok lah, looks quite cool so I bought it. Bhahahaa...

Our flight was delayed for 2 hours. My goodness! That is like the time it takes to fly from Johor to Penang to and fro. They couldn't just send another replacement plane to takeover. They had to delay the plane scheduled to fly to KL. So people from the Kuching flight were getting fustrated from the long wait, but happy that got plane to fly back. KL people were fustrated cause their flight has been delayed and will only take off the next day. So whatever plans they had were ruined.

Anyway, after landing at KL, there was a massive jam at the malaysia custom. I don't know why it was moving crawling at snail pace. But after we got past that, it was like an entering an expressway. The Sg custom officers were all like so free, looking around, talking or smsing. All the opened booths were empty or had only 1 car.

Oh we didn't have our dinner. So at 1am, I had my dinner at the kopitiam. WAh liao...

Kuching Day 3 - 01.05.06

I slept very well last night. Perhaps due to extreme tiredness.

Had more waffle again. Hahaha... Its seriously nice lah. The roti canai also good. I love the curry. I used curried my waffle. Not a bad combi.

Took a cab to Bako National Park. Its an offshore island so we have to take a boat there, well, actually more like a motorised sampan. On the way to the island, it looks more like the Survivor Borneo Island season. Hahaa... Nice scenery.
We have to register ourselves at the office just in case by 6pm, we've not signed out, they would send a rangers to look for us. So we set out of our trial which is a 1.5hour route. The start was walking over mangrove swamps on the board walks. I was like holding my camera and snapping away. Thinking to myself, hey, this 1.5hour would be an interesting walk.

Then suddenly, the boardwalk just ends there. Its was like going treking in McRitchie for only about 5meters. Thereafter was tough. I had to keep my camera already cause I needed my hands to grab the roots. Only taking out my camera when I see interesting stuff.
There was a barely existant footpath, only a route seasoned by lots of trekkers. Steps were made of different level of tree roots. Railings were made of jutting out tree roots, strong small branches or branches with THORNS. Only occasionally, there would be wooden steps but they were small and steep. Railings were flimsy.
Hardly any wind, it was humid. Everyone else had beads of sweat on their head except me. Clearly I'm an alien or my pores went on holiday too.
When I'm in kickboxing class maybe I can say perhaps I didn't push myself hard enough or I'm moving a bit only. But how is it that when I walk the same route same terrain, walk the same speed, panting away. I still don't sweat. I also don't know leh. Never mind...

After the forest area, we came to barren rocks. I thought that was the cliff we were supposed to be at and we've reached our destination. Clearly not. But it started to drizzle and we were worried that the road ahead wouldn't have shelter should the sky decides to have a heavy downpour and have blots of lighting flashing down. We decided to carry on. The sun came out. Ahh.. At this time? When there are no trees. The sun was scorching hot! I was being burned. I'll definitely be lobstered by the end of this. The route was once a river. Traces of small streams still running through. Portholes and snaking river path.

Finally arrived at the cliff. Woahhh!!! It made the tiring walk damn worth it! Too bad it started to rain AGAIN. Then we went to find a route down to the beach to take a boat back. Of couse, we would have to pay for the boat ride. But no point that we walk back the same route we came from. We would have seen what was there already and its tiring. Listen to the wind... Its quite loud. Ohh... There's no barrier or anything from preventing people from falling over. Quite dangerous.

Although taking the boat back would be the easy way out. It was definitely not a easy way down from the cliff to the beach. Steps were hard to reach and very very slippery. Oh, it was a steep too. Land one wrong foot and probably slide down somewhere.

Wahh... It felt so great to set foot on the beach. I was never so glad to stand there and soak in the afternoon sun. My first commentary video. Haha..

Wahh... While on the motor sampan, we headed straight into heavy rain. It made me wonder if the boat will flood or not. Hahaha...
Anyway, we trekked so much but saw nothing much except a lot of trees. In fact, I saw more monekys at the starting point then during the trail walk. Ohh... Caught a glimpse of the long nose moneky too. But too far to take picture.

Dinner was good! More seafood...
Soft shell crab, cereal prawns, chut chut (I don't like the taste of it though), steam fish, vege and belachan fried rice. It was more satisfying then yesterday's dinner. Slightly more ex cause more seafood stuff. Oh we saw another table eating this dish. Look damn interesting. It comes in a shape of the chinese wok. Thin and crispy. You're supposed to break it off from there and eat it. Its actually oyster omelette. Too bad we were too full. Else would have tried.

Kuching Day 2 - 30.04.06

I had a bad sleep.
I couldn't sleep. The freaking fridge would suddenly make loud thumping noise in the middle of the night. By the time I could sleep, the fridge made that stupid noise again. It was so loud and sudden that it jolted me out of my sleep.
Kaoz!
Aunt could still sleep soundly...
I heard footsteps and someone trying to lift the door handle then left.
Went to the door area, make sure door latch was closed then I went back to sleep.

Woke up early, had breakfast at the hotel. Looking even more like a panda cause of the lack of sleep from 2 nights.
Anyway, their waffles are nice!! Especially when the holes are filled up with maple syrup.

Anyway, we set off for the first stop, Sarawak Cultural Village. Its not the real villages but tourist attraction where they constructed the various kinds of houses so that you see all kinds instead of just going to one. We got to see their traditional way of life, how they work, play and enjoy. Really simple lifestyle.

Off to the Cat Museum after that. Everything there was about cats. The different kinds, various cartoon characters and all that. Pretty interesting. There was a sign that said cameras allowed in but for a fee. Normal one would cost Rm3, Digital ones cost Rm4. Well, no one checked me, no one stopped me. So I brought in my camera and took shots for free. Wouldn't be so stupid to go to the counter there and say hi, I'm bringing my Digital camera in so here's 4 ringgit. But I did get weird stares from other people abided by the rules, deposited their bag and camera at the counter. BUT, I Don't care lalalaaa...

Next up, lunch at some small town area. I had kueh chap which is good. Soup was nice and tasty, not like stalls in SG which is rather diluted.

Then to the caves. Thank goodness I did my research on Kuching first, so I brought my sport shoes. I don't usually bring sport shoes on trips cause they're bulky. There were lots of steps to climb. Small, steep and slippery ones. Even if there was the railing to hold on, its covered in shit stains from bats and birds. Splats of it all over. So its like either you risk slipping and tumbling down or you grab shit-lined railings. I of course, chose the latter. But I use a few fingers, grab the clean spots and hope I won't fall. Climbing conditions were worst than the caves I've been to in Australia. Aussie ones I went to were cool, clean though wet but not muddy. This one was humid, shitty, wet and muddy. Get used to that and the view is simply spectacular!

4th and last stop of the chartered van to send us was the souvenir shop which sells birds' nest and other stuff. I bought a pack of pepper jelly. Never tried before. Its jelly sweet texture with pepper taste. Hot stuff, but good stuff.

Dinner was good. Especially for the fact that we ate cereal lobster, pepper crab, fish maw soup, bamboo shoots, 2 kinds of local vege. 2 were seafood and cost us only bout Sg$12 each!!!!
$12 leh... So many item somemore.
But the cereal lobster was totally different from Sg's version. Their cereal was like only a bit scattered around, but they were covered in bits of milk powder fried in butter to form clumpy stuff. More towards the soggy side.

Walked the night market only to find 1 in every 4 stalls selling pearls. Then there was another common sight, Gambir (not sure if I spelt it correctly) but they were only sold by men. It makes me wonder what it is. Walking past it, I tried to figure out what it is, but I don't know.

Kuching Day 1 - 29.04.06

Right.. I'm too lazy to upload the pics to my blog due to the overwhelming amount I have taken.
But pictures from my trip can be viewed here.

Day 1
Set off at 4am! I only slept for like half hour and I think I look damn pandified. Chartered the taxi service which picks us up from our own houses.
Was a few meters away from an accident cause some drunk driver apparently lost control of vehicle and skid from one lane to another, then decides to reverse to drive off. Nearly hit the taxi but lucky the driver was alert though.
Reached the airport. Checked in and waited for them to open the gates. Budget airline don't allocate seats so must cheong for good seats, if not we'll probably be seperated.
Ride was a bit rough due to turbulance, but to me, it felt like I was being rocked to sleep.

Landed and we went to check into the hotel but rooms weren't ready. So we went for breakfast. Kolo mee is something similiar to our wanton mee, except its more to the sweet side. But the mee was springy! The sarawak laksa which was also supposed to be famous, was rather disappointing. I think the stall didn't cook it too well. It isn't supposed to have crabsticks and hotdogs in it.

We cut through a shopping mall, supposed to head back to hotel. But I guess my shopping spree started there. I bought a pair of contact lens. Not that I lost my or anything, just that its the brown kind supposed to give the illusion of bigger eyes. Hahahaa...
I know, very hiao.

Back to the hotel and the room was ready. My room has a nice view. Rested a while and headed off. Supposed to head off but then, they were attracted by this ongoing workshop held by Maggi in the hotel that they spent a lot of time there just looking at them cook the various dishes. I got bored lah... So I wandered off to the poolside and started to take pictures.

By the time they were ready to leave and all that, it started to pour. So we were sort of stuck in the hotel. But it didn't look like it was going to stop. So after chartering our van for the whole day tomorrow, we were off to the shopping mall despite the heavy rain.
I forgot to bring my brolly, so I wore a disposable poncho, folded my jeans and just walked like that. The hotel's security guard thought it was damn cool and gave me the thumbs up sign and saying stuff in malayu which I don't understand.

Anyway, we shopped around in the shopping centre and I didn't find anything nice. I was shopping alone since the adults were wandered off on their own. The fashion there isn't to my liking. I went to look for food since dinner would be late. There is this stall, which sells waffles and they allow you to choose up to 3 flavours. I think its damn delicious. The waffle is crispy! Not like those in found in Sg which are soft or doesn't stay crispy for long.

We walked more than 45minutes just to reach the church for mass. We were early so I nodded off to dreamland. Recharge a bit lah.
Ok.. Among all the churches I've attended in M'sia, I must say, Kuching's one is the best so far. The mass was so lively and the choir is entertaining.

We walked another half hour to reach the night market. Interesting place cause they sell anything and almost everything there. From fruits and vegetables, to cooked food and kuehs. Hardware to magazines, plants to even animals!

Took a cab back to rest for the night. Its gonna be a long day tomorrow.

Back From Kuching

Selamat Pagi!~

Hee hee... I'm back from my Kuching trip. I've uploaded my pictures already and damn, I must say, I've got quite alot of pics. About 400 pictures. Yet to delete cause my laptop is lagging due to the spoilt cooling system.

Trip was an adventure. Interesting experiences.
Well, a lot of things I did for the first time. Explore caves, trek jungles and visit longhouses.

Com is now seriously too lag to even blog properly without feeling fustrated. Well I can't type in peace cause the letters take too long to appear on the screen. When they do, they don't register the words I typed according to the sequence I type.
This is how it appaers if I dno't crorcet it atfer typnig. Psisnig ins't it?

Ok.. Hair dry, can sleep already. Sms, email or tag my blog if you need to contact me. I may not be on msn that often until my laptop is repaired.
